About Mike

A business owner who became your financial advisor.

I'm Mike Garcia, AAMS®—husband, father of five, and an independent financial advisor with BRIA Capital Group. Before financial services, I spent 20+ years as an entrepreneur: restaurants in California and Louisiana, hair salons, and a catering company. Jessica and I moved our family from Colorado to Wesley Chapel in 2018.

That background matters. When I sit across from a business owner or a family thinking about retirement, I'm not reading from a script—I've lived the financial decisions that come with building something.

How It Works

A straightforward process. No high-pressure sales.

01

Discovery Call

A 30-minute introductory conversation. We'll talk through what's on your mind, what you're working toward, and whether working together makes sense.

02

Plan Build

If we move forward, I dig into the details—current accounts, tax picture, family situation, goals—and build a plan that addresses each piece in plain English.

03

Ongoing Partnership

Plans are living documents. We review, adjust as life changes, and make sure the strategy still matches reality—year after year.

What Clients Say

Trusted by Tampa Bay families & business owners.

"Mike took the time to actually understand what we wanted out of retirement—not just the numbers. We finally feel like we have a plan instead of a pile of accounts."

Robert & Linda K.

"As a business owner, I needed someone who could speak to both my personal goals and the company's. Mike handled both. The 401(k) we set up has been a game-changer for retention."

Daniel M.

"Honest, patient, and never pushed a product on me. That alone made him different from everyone else I'd talked to."

FAQ

Common questions, answered plainly.

Who do you typically work with?

Families and small-business owners in the Tampa Bay area, generally with $250k+ in investable assets or a business they're building toward sale or succession. That said, the discovery call is free—if I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you and point you somewhere that is.

How are you paid?

Fees are transparent and discussed up front. Depending on the engagement, that may be a flat planning fee, an asset-based advisory fee, or commission for certain insurance products. You'll always know what you're paying and why before anything is signed.

Are you a fiduciary?

When acting in an advisory capacity, yes—I'm held to a fiduciary standard, meaning I'm legally required to act in your best interest. For insurance products, I work to recommend what actually fits your plan.

Do I have to live in Tampa Bay?

No. I'm based in Wesley Chapel and serve most of the Tampa Bay area in person, but I work with clients across Florida and several other states virtually.

What's the first meeting like?

A 30-minute call, no obligation. We'll talk through what you're working on, what you'd like clarity on, and whether it makes sense to keep talking. No pitch, no homework required up front.
